ABOUT ME

My name is Ms. Pitts and I am from Auburn, AL. I attended college and obtained my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education in Normal (Huntsville), Alabama at Alabama A&M University. I moved to Georgia about 22 years ago to teach. Prior to teaching in Georgia, I taught Space history past, present and future at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama.

Moving to Georgia has awarded me numerous opportunities. I have since worked for Lockheed Martin as the Lead Teacher for Aviation Camp, DeKalb County School System as a District Science Trainer, and I was a Fourth Grade Chair for three consecutive years at Canby Lane Elementary. I now serve in several leadership positions at Montgomery Elementary including the Special Areas chair.      

In 2007, I completed my Masters degree in Technology in Education at Lesley University in Cambridge, Ma. In May of 2010, I obtained my Specialist degree in Technology in Education also from Lesley. I completed my Gifted Teacher Certification in 2011.

It is my belief that we are a team and your child will progress with our help. This year I am the technology lab teacher for grades K-5. I anticipate this will be the best school year ever.
